Hello tumblr friends~As I really just want to draw more people, and community motivation is always great, I’m going to be posting a random character prompt here every Friday! Anyone who would like to participate for that week can submit an image by the following Thursday and I’ll post it up here with a link to your blog/site.Send me, doodles, sketches, illustrations, whatever you’d like. It doesn’t need to be 100% finished or perfect, but just think of it as an exercise to get you thinking. :D—-

Last Saturday a small group of us went to the Raptor Center at the U of M campus and saw some fabulous birds. All of the critters there are injured or otherwise can’t be released back into the wild.

The volunteers were beyond great and let us sit in their back room to draw and also gave us a tour free of charge. I ended up giving them the top sketch as a thank you.

They are celebrating their 40th anniversary, so if you’d like to visit the Raptor Center or learn more, you can find out more info here

Though I would recommend waiting to visit after the state fair is over because the traffic is a bit bad.

You can also keep up to date on our Sketch-a-Way events around the Twin Cities here

Please check out Rachael’s tumblr over yonder and follow her for lots of watercolor awesomeness.

So I was lying in bed writing the list of things I need to do for the following week, holding my note pad high over my head, and just trying to remember things that were mentioned to me, conversations I had recently… and Jane Austen came to mind, as a friend had just watched Pride & Prejudice and mentioned it, and it got me thinking.

How spoiled are we, to lay in bed, and write, and what have you.
Ms. Austen would not have had the luxury.

Hello friends!

Life has been very busy, but that is a rather sorry excuse for not posting on the regular.

I’m happy to announce that I am officially a full-time illustrator and designer, and was able to quit my part time job and can now focus properly on making.

That being said, expect quite a few updates from me, and lots of sketches… plus I’m ordering a ton of samples from Target. Just more things I worked on (but I really can’t wait for the Halloween stuff) :)

I hope everyone is well and productive! <3
